The zodiac sign Capricorn, 22nd December - 20th January, is ruled by the planet Saturn and naturally rules the 9th House. The Capricorn symbol is the Sea Goat. Capricorn Archetypes are the Hermit, the Father and the Prime Minister. The Sea Goat has the Element of Earth, and the polarity Yin, being more inward facing and feminine in energy.

Capricorn thrives when seeking experiences aligning with 'who' they are, the power and freedom to be authenitic to self and all others. They are happiest when balancing a life of autheniticity with times of solitude, living without the need of approval or support. Martin Luther King and Muhammad Ali were both Capricorns, and represented their inner values in very tangible and outspoken ways.

Capricorn knows the inner world must first be stable, then they can look to the outer world. They are inherently patient, consistent, determined and focused. Naturally a climber, they often find themselves in positions and careers involving leadership and visible accomplishments, which then can lead to applause and public approval.
Capricorn and Astrology
The Sea Goat must be immune to these and know that the work they do is valuable without the accolades, simply because it represents 'who' they are. To keep the temptation to feed ego in check, they must intersperse their climbing with solitude, taking time oute to make sure they are truly being themselves. To make sure the alignment between who I am and what I do, stays true.

A challenge faced by Capricorn is the use of it's innate self control as a means of with-holding emotions, particularly during an even where they might be seen as a failure. In an effort to protect their potentially hurt egos and feelings, they attempt to control others. They can become unapproachable overnight. Whilst this reckless behaviour pushes the Sea Goat to the top of the mountain, once they arrive, they find it lonely and very, very, quiet.

Remember no two Capricorns are exactly the same. And whilst some of the key words used in pop astrology may indeed be ascribed correctly, best not to rely on generalisations. Your Natal Chart will show where your Capricorn sign (ruled by the Sun) is placed specifically, as well as the corresponding House. Other aspects (planets and signs that are geometrically aligned), and many other considerations make up the total sum of a Natal Chart.
